The show’s over for Jean Paul Gaultier.
The groundbreaking French designer — who famously made Madonna’s cone-shaped bullet bra — staged a final runway show in Paris after 50 years.
The star-studded event showcased the 67-year-old style great’s last couture collection, complete with a runway debut by Paris Jackson, daughter of the late King of Pop, at the Théâtre du Châtelet Wednesday night.
Jackson strutted in a bohemian getup while Boy George gave a surprise performance of Amy Winehouse’s hit “Back to Black.” Models Gigi and Bella Hadid also hit the runway in sexy spin-offs of Gaultier’s signature sailor stripes, while conceptual art persona Pandemonia really popped in balloon garb.
Gaultier built a career on provocative reinterpretations of classic designs, earning himself the nickname “enfant terrible” — French for “terrible child.” In 1990 he designed the iconic white brassiere worn by Madonna during her Blonde Ambition Tour.
