The Versace Film Casting...

No, nobody asked ME, but here's who should play everyone in the hit show's depiction of the 1997 Gianni Versace murder.

FX's American Crime Story  was just renewed for a third season, despite the fact that Season Two, which will deal with Hurricane Katrina, has not even been filmed yet. But Season Three is sure to get the fashion crowd excited, as it will portray the mysterious murder of Gianni Versace, who was shot outside of his Miami mansion in 1997 by Andrew Cunanan. (Cunanan committed suicide eight days later.) Though to this day police are unsure of why exactly Versace was killed, the aftermath sent shockwaves through culture as at the time, Versace was at the top of his game.

His clients and friends included everyone from Princess Diana to Elton John to the Spice Girls, while supermodels like Naomi Campbell were mainstays of Versace's runways. Point is, just like American Crime Story Season One, Season Three will have some enormously recognizable roles to cast. Here are our picks for the major players in this story.
 tucci-versace.jpg

Stanley Tucci as Gianni Versace

Tucci already has played a character in the fashion world, for starters, having aced his role as Nigel in The Devil Wears Prada.  But more importantly, Tucci has the range the pull off the legendary Italian designer while not being overly recognizable. Plus, Tucci's character in The Hunger Games basically looks like he's dressed in full Versace couture, so he's already proven he looks good in some bold-printed wears.

Lady Gaga as Donatella Versace

We know Ryan Murphy has a soft spot for Lady Gaga, who's starred in multiple seasons of American Horror Story. Additionally, Lady Gaga's relationship with Versace runs deep, from the fact the she starred in a Versace editorials back in 2014 to her song "Donatella." Honestly, when it comes to casting the current Versace designer and sister of Gianni, this is a no brainer.

 Michael Kelly as Santo Versace
Gianni's brother Santo took over the company as C.E.O. after Gianni's death, and certainly there were politics at play in terms of splitting up the fortune and control of this multi-million-dollar fashion empire in the wake of Gianni's death. Thus, we think the man who played Doug Stamper on House of Cards would be the perfect fit.
justin-long-versace.jpg

Justin Long as Andrew Cunanan

If there's one thing we know Ryan Murphy loves, it's resurrecting careers with his hit TV shows. He did it for Cuba Gooding, Jr. and David Schwimmer in Season One, and now's the perfect chance to give everyone's favorite goofball of 2004 to 2006, Justin Long, a chance to re-enter the spotlight. As the murderer of Versace, this would be Long's darkest role to date. But that's exactly what makes him the perfect candidate for a comeback story.

Joe Manganiello as Antonio D'Amico

Gianni Versace's longtime boyfriend was also a hunky male model, and who's more hunky than Manganiello? Plus, who wouldn't tune in to see Joe rock one of Versace's signature speedos and/or silk robes?
 coredn-versace.jpg
 James Corden as Elton John
Elton John was one of Gianni's closest friends, so there's no doubt he'll make an appearance somewhere in this series. We know James has the pipes should a song need to be sung, but we also just really want to see him in some Elton John sunglasses and wig.

Naomi Campbell as Naomi Campbell

Because the woman doesn't age, for one thing. And when you're this iconic, sometimes you've just gotta do the job yourself.
