Iman griefs Bowie

Supermodel Iman Abdulmajid, who was married to David Bowie for more than 23 years, shared several grief-stricken messages on social media just days before her husband's death.

Early on Monday, representatives for the legendary singer announced his death at age 69.

Bowie had been battling cancer for a year and a half, according to his representatives, and while his death came as a shock to many, it's clear those closest to him were preparing for the inevitable.

The majority of Iman's recent Instagram and Twitter posts have focused on her husband. In hindsight, it's clear the supermodel was processing her grief over Bowie's illness.

On Sunday night, Abdulmajid shared a post on her Instagram page with the message, "The struggle is real but so is God."
owie and Abdulmajid were married in 1992 and have one daughter together, 15-year-old Alexandria Zahra Jones.
While Bowie has repeatedly said he fell in love with Abdulmajid at first sight, the Somali-born supermodel said she was more reluctant to fall for a rock star.
"I was not ready for a relationship. Definitely I didn't want to get into a relationship with somebody like him. But as I always said: I fell in love with David Jones. I did not fall in love with David Bowie," said Abdulmajid in a 2012 interview with The Guardian. "Bowie is just a persona. He's a singer, an entertainer. David Jones is a man I met."
