Grooming: 5 Celebrity Hairstyles to Emulate
Men's Life Magazine Article by James Erik
If
you’re thinking of taking on a new look in the hair department, it’s
usually best to decide which one you’re after before you head to your
local coiffure—after all, indecision and haircuts don’t go well
together. To help get you started, we’ve selected five of the best
celebrity hairstyles to emulate. Some are easier to pull off than the
others, but they are all worthy of your consideration. For the best
chance of nailing the look, make sure to seek the help of professional
barber as a DIY-job is bound to fail here. Remember: decide, commit, and
enjoy the attention.
1. Kit Harrington
This is not an easy look to pull off, but the “Game of Thrones” man
does it with aplomb. The key is to let the hair grow down to the lower
part of your neck while seeking the consistent help of your barber along
the way. If you don’t have naturally wavy or curly hair, you may have
to think again (or break out the curlers).
2. Ryan Gosling
2. Ryan Gosling
With shows such as “Mad Man” and “Boardwalk Empire” gracing our
screens, the return to favor of classic cuts from the last century is
official. Sporting something in between an “Ivy League” and a
“gentleman’s cut,” Gosling’s hair is kept relatively short on the sides
while leaving enough length on top to style with a side part. For that
silver-screen shine, employ the use of some quality hair pomade.
3. Robert Downey Jr.
The star of the heavy-hitting “Iron Man” franchise, Robert Downey Jr.
often takes an “off-duty” version his character Tony Stark’s haircut
down the red carpet. Again suiting one with wavy or slightly curly hair,
the medium length allows it to be swept back in a debonair fashion. Use
fingers to achieve the appropriate level of “ruffle” and a good dose of
hair wax.
4. Channing Tatum
A man who appears to prefer a fuss-free hairstyle on his head, the
“22 Jump Street” star Channing Tatum is a master of the short and
sharp-looking crew cut. A style that looks equally good at the gym or on
the red carpet, this is one you must wear with confidence and is
perfect for warmer climates.
5. Brad Pitt
A longer length style that is suitable for those of us with straight
hair, this slick back variant will take some maintenance (time to break
out your comb and that hair pomade again) but will be worth it in the
end. Though we can’t promise you’ll get as much attention as Mr. Pitt,
this look will certainly turn heads (particularly if you wear it with
sunglasses like that).
