CBS’ The Young and the Restless is making a long-requested refresh to its opening credits. Set to premiere in the Valentine’s Day episode, Y&R gave fans an early sneak peek!
It truly is a new era at daytime’s number one soap. The last time The Young and the Restless debuted new credits was in 2003 when the series retired its infamous (and short-lived) red satin opening. Over the next 14 years, the credits remained rather stagnant with little visual updates to the cast shots until a few years ago.
“Join us on Valentine’s Day as we unveil a glamorous update to our iconic opening titles featuring the fantastic Y&R cast,” said Mal Young, Executive Producer of The Young and the Restless. “We’re excited to debut this fresh update to the titles that honors our rich history on CBS Daytime and carries us into the future as we approach our 46th anniversary and continue celebrating 30 years as the number one daytime drama. Enjoy!”
The new opening credits retain the classic feel while incorporating live-action modern visuals used during the mid-show breaks. As in the past, there will be various versions utilizing different cast members each day.
