Bold and the Beautiful turns 30!

 

This award-winning show is about the lives and loves of the beautiful and rich in the fashion world of Beverly Hills, primarily
the Forrester and Logan families. 

 

Created by the late William J. Bell and his wife Lee Phillip Bell, their son Bradley Bell, contributed to the creation when he was only twenty-three. 

 

Bell is currently Executive Producer and Head Writer, while Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke Logan) and John McCook (Eric Forrester) are also celebrating 30 years on the show. Things can get complicated on "B&B" and Brooke and Eric are no exception.

 

 For example, Brooke once got pregnant by Eric, married him, then had an affair with his son Ridge, who she eventually married, divorced and repeated...a few times. Brooke and Eric have two children, Bridget and Rick.

"The Bold and the Beautiful" has given us thirty years of lovers and jealousy. Catfights are always a lot of fun to watch. One of the 

 best catfights onscreen involved chocolate and lots of it. Hope was trying to get Steffy to sign annulment papers so she and Liam could get married. Tempers flared and a nearby chocolate fountain got involved. The next thing we knew they were covered.

Some women really do love to fight and matriarch Stephanie Forrester was no exception. Who can forget when Stephanie went after Sally Spectra for stealing Forrester Designs?

 

 Later, her annoyance with Sally turned to an odd friendship. And Stephanie’s hatred for the Logans, especially Donna, Beth, Stephen, and Brooke. 

 

But, do you also remember the tender moment on her deathbed when Stephanie asked Brooke to sing her to sleep in her arms? It was a spectacular finish for a spectacular character. R.I.P. Stephanie. 

 

Secrets and Lies

Since the inception of "B&B," secrets and lies have been a big part of the show. Of course, secrets don’t stay secret forever and don’t we love the big reveal! Back in 1997, Dr. Taylor Hayes Jones lied to Ridge Forrester about Thomas Forrester’s paternity saying the father was Thorne Forrester when in fact the baby daddy was Ridge. 

 

In 2001, Morgan DeWitt fell for and became pregnant by Ridge. Stephanie ran her out of town to have an abortion. This secret was kept for years. Pam Edwards is known for her awesome lemon bars. In July 2008, it Eric had a heart attack while having sex with Donna Forrester, but it’s discovered later that Pam deliberately poisoned him with one of her lemon bars.

 

In 2012, Steffy Forrester told Taylor that she and Liam Spencer had made out in Italy before Liam’s marriage to Hope Logan and begged Taylor to keep the secret. In 2013, in the middle of Brooke Logan's birthday party, Taylor lets the guests in on a secret and announces to everyone’s shock that Brooke’s baby is Bill Spencer’s.

"The Bold and the Beautiful" has always put relevant stories out there. There are always secrets in Soapland and Maya Avant (Karla Mosley) had a humdinger of a secret.  

Born in a male's body, Myron identified with being female, and eventually transitioned into a female. She named herself Maya. When Maya married Rick Forrester, she became the first transgender bride to be married on daytime TV. The intention of this storyline was to foster love and tolerance. It was a fan favorite amongst many though had its controversial moments.

  

Regarding the upcoming anniversary, in a statement released earlier this year, Bradley Bell said, "We are preparing to film the most glamorous location shoot in soap opera history. 

 

Collaborating with Qantas, Network TEN and CBS, viewers will witness romance, high style, jaw-dropping twists, harrowing stunts and major cliffhangers, all hallmarks of 'Bold and Beautiful'." To celebrate this milestone anniversary, several episodes of B&B and their all-star cast has been filmed in the land of Oz - Australia The last time the B&B shot episodes ‘Down Under’ was for the 20th anniversary in 2007. 

 

Bold and the Beautiful:Medical Emergency In Monaco

  

The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers indicate that several characters will head to Monaco for the Annual Spencer Summit and while there one of them will fall ill. So who do you B&B fans think that will be?

  

No need to worry because Gilles Marini will be making a guest appearance as a doctor who will take good care of whomever needs his attention. You can look for him to appear towards the end of July in two episodes.

 

Needless to say he is very easy on the eyes and you may even remember him being on B&B before, actually in two other roles. The actor Gilles Marini previously appeared on the show in 2005 and 2007 for one episode as other characters. So his face may be very familiar to some fans.

 

 Summer time is amongst us and what better way to bring it in than watching the cast head to the beautiful Monte Carlo! The Monaco-set episodes will of course feature a fashion show which we will see Spectra against Forrester in a swimwear challenge. So this is going to be very exciting to finally see the two going head to head in a little fashion fun! Are you B&B fans excited?

 

B&B spoilers also tease that Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye), Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline Wood), and Katie Spencer (Heather Tom) will want to partner with Spencer Publication to showcase their new swimwear campaign. So do you fans think Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) will be on board?

Bold and the Beautiful Shocked Fans on Friday With (Evil?) Blast From the Past

The Bold and the Beautiful pulled off the near-impossible in this age of pervasive, invasive social media, surprising viewers with the unannounced return of a well-known character, played by the actress who famously brought her to life.

 

At the close of this Friday’s episode, B&B fans laid eyes on Sheila Carter, a villainess who last appeared in the CBS Daytime universe in 2006, when she wrapped a run on The Young and the Restless, and who last haunted B&B itself in 2003.

 

Kimberlin Brown, who over the years earned a Daytime Emmy nom and a pair of Soap Opera Digest Awards for the role, told that she and B&B went to great lengths to keep a lid in her surprise return, sneaking into the studio in disguise and through a back door, and having the studio-wide feed cut whenever she was on set or Sheila was refereed to.

 

Teasing Sheila’s unexpected encore, Brown told the Insiders “She’s actually done her time in prison and is trying really hard to rehabilitate herself and become a good person.” That said, the actresses wonders, “Is she completely rehabilitated? Well, rehabilitation is an ongoing process. Is there an occasional slip into her past anger issues? Maybe. But Sheila is really, truly trying to change things, and that’s going to be the interesting thing this time around. It’s the old Sheila with a new twist.”

Bold & the Beautiful won its 11th Golden Nymph Awards!!

 

Excited to announce that "The Bold and the Beautiful" has won the 2017 Golden Nymph Award in the category of International TV Audience Awards for Best Telenovela/Soap Opera!

 

On June 16, I learned that “The Bold and the Beautiful” had been nominated for a 2017 Golden Nymph Award at Monte Carlo’s annual Television Festival. 

 

The nomination is in the category of International TV Audience Awards – Best Telenovela/Soap Opera, and their fellow nominees in the category are “Beni Affet” from Turkey, and “Peri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi (I Love Only You)” from India.

 

The official Instagram account for the festival shared the news that plans are in place for a behind the scenes documentary screening, a question and answer session, as well as a ‘selfie session’ with “B&B.” Gilles Marini who will be a part of a location shoot for those involved according to ET online who reported, "The glamorous expedition will also feature a sexy swimwear fashion show challenge, pitting Forrester Creations against the up-and-coming Spectra Fashions." 

 

They also shared a photo from Monte Carlo, where they had arrived in anticipation of the awards ceremony and activities surrounding the festival. In the post, Kruger enthused, “So excited to be coming back to beautiful Monte Carlo this year for the @festivaltvmonte_carlo!!! Congrats #boldandthebeautiful on another nomination!”

 

Additionally, actor Justin Hartley, formerly Adam Newman on “B&B’s” sister soap, “The Young and the Restless,” is slated to walk the red carpet at the Monte Carlo Television Awards this year.

The 57th Monte-Carlo Television Festival, which was founded in 1961 and showcases television productions and some of the best actors from around the world, runs from Friday June 16 through Tuesday June 20. More than thirty countries are represented each year.

Dina Mergeron's back!

Young and the Restless': Dina Mergeron is manipulating her family yet again!

   

Marla Adams is back playing the character that made her famous as America's #1 Snob on television! 

 

The former Matriarch of the wealthy Abbott family is in Genoa City once more. Granddaughter Abby Newman will no doubt fall prey to her manipulations.

 

Dina Mergeron has returned to Genoa City. As usual, she has an agenda regarding her family. Her daughter Ashley is suspicious, and refuses to let her guard down. She is determined not to give her mother a chance. Her son Jack is somewhat more optimistic. Granddaughter Abby is the one who may fall victim to Madame Mergeron's manipulations.

 

Three generations of the Abbott women

 Abby Newman is he daughter of Victor Newman and Ashley Abbott. Ashley's mom Dina Mergeron is her grandmother, but John Abbott is not her grandfather. It turns out that Dina cheated on John Abbott and Ashley is not his child. This has caused much contention over the years.

Dina has left town and returned several times, always leaving a bad taste in Ashley's mouth after she is gone. Dina recently returned to Genoa City, saying she wants to reconnect with her family.
Her daughter Tracy is no longer in town, Jack is receptive but cautious, and has spoken with his mother. 

Ashley wants nothing at all to do with her mother, for good reason. Dina cheated on her husband John Abbot, and Ashley was not his biological child.This has been a sore spot between the two ever since Ashley found out. Now Ashley wants to protect her daughter Abbey from Madame Mergeron.

Dina has made this last trek to Genoa City under the guise of a business decision. She sold her company to Neil Winters and Devon Hamilton, who just incorporated "Hamilton Winters." She let herself into the Abbot mansion and ran into Ashley, who promptly let her out.

  

On the other side of town, Abby is curious about her grandmother, and would like to get to know her. She does not understand her mother's resistance to her meeting Dina.

She talks briefly about selling her company, then flips the script to family. She mentions that Devon Hamilton found his grandmother Katherine Chancellor in later life, then looks directly into the camera. She tells the viewing audience that it is never too late to reunite with family. Jack and Ashley are watching the show together, and both look exasperated after listening to their mother. 

 

Abby however is innocent, and will no doubt be the prey for her grandmother's manipulations. Bringing Madame Mergeron back is a game changer on America's #1 Daytime drama. She has the potential to cause harm to many lives. She will push back and make as much trouble as she wants good, just like town iconic villain Victor Newman.
