Know Your Worth: Charlie by Matthew Zink.

With the rising profile and social acceptance of gay rights around the world (welcome to the 21st century), companies have realised the power of the Pink Dollar and begun to directly market their products specifically towards the gay community. While this is nothing new in the fashion industry (just look at the back catalogue of work from Bruce Weber), the rise of the Pink Dollar has helped to open up new market places for targeted brands to create mainstream product entirely directed at the gay community like New York based brand Charlie by Matthew Zink.

Although catering to both sexes, Charlie by Matthew Zink is particularly well known for its menswear campaigns that have in the past included male models Lucas Garcez, Cole Monahan, Alex Geerman, Pietro Boselli and Barrett Pall giving the girls a run for their money by flexing and showing off their own curves (which are not always just muscles).

It’s these images from the former Victoria’s Secret swimwear designer that have really grasped the imagination and fantasy of the gay community and created a dedicated fan base who keep coming back to peruse and purchase from Charlie by Matthew Zink. And the 2016 collection is bound to do just as well judging from the recently released imagery that features Brazilian top model Diego Miguel modelling a range of swim and leisure wear. I guess that anyone who doubted the value (it is estimated to be 6 billions in the UK alone) of the Pink Dollar can see just from the strength of these images just how strong this fabulous currency truly is worth…
