Got here: February, 2007
Why you made it: “Saying “no” a lot.”
How you survived: “Saying “yes” to the right things.”
Who are your good friends in the industry? “I’ve never been good at picking a few from the group but I must say that Milan Vukmirovic and I have been close friends through so many different stages of our careers.”
Early shows: “Chanel Cruise was my first show in June 2006 at Grand Central Station, but I think my very first show was Perry Ellis and David Milosevich cast me.
Best day in the biz: “Probably the day I launched KATAMA, my swimwear line, July 13 2015.”
What female models do you admire? “Liya Kebede, Karlie Kloss, and Natalia Vodianova. They are all positive female role models in the industry and professionals with passion to improve the world.”
R-E-S-P-E-C-T: “Ralph Lauren has created something in his brands that is rare and enviable, and equally responsible I think is Bruce Weber
for executing the same vision in his photography. They both give back
in many ways to the communities around them. I also admire Stephen Gan for his work ethic and undying creative spirit.”
Fashion pet peeve:
“The “It” thing really bothers me. “It” never lasts, and we soon get
bombarded and sick of “It.” I’m all about reenvisioning the classics and
making it new.”
Latest read?” “The One Thing by Gary W. Keller.”
Typical breakfast: “Greek yogurt with berries, and a skim cappuccino and I’m good to go till a late lunch.”
