End of DETAILS magazines!

DETAILS magazine is the latest casualty of the declining print advertising market. Condé Nast announced it was shutting down the publication, revealing the upcoming December 2015 issue will be its last.

“It’s been tough the last few months,” Conde Nast president Bob Sauerberg said in an interview. “Consumers love the magazine. It’s not fair or right.”
Details boasts a circulation of about 560,000 readers. It was founded in 1982 then acquired by Condé Nast in 1988. In a bid to retain the fashion designers who currently advertise in Details, Condé Nast plans to increase the frequency of it’s twice-a-year GQ Style publication

This truly is an end of an era. During my twenties, I had a subscription to the publication. Loved it back then.
The hits keep on coming in the print-magazine world. The latest shake-up: Details, which Condé Nast has been publishing since 1988 (it was founded as a downtown culture publication in 1982), will close, according to an internal company email. The December/January issue will be its last.

To step into the niche left by Details, GQ Style, which has been a supplement to its parent magazine, will become a quarterly and will also have a beefed-up digital presence, according to the email. However, it doesn't sound like Details EIC Dan Peres and publisher Drew Schutte will be staying on to help with it — the email confirmed that the two will leave the company.
