Anyone who remembers the 90’s and some of the films that came out back
then will know what I’m talking about when it comes to the sexiness of
the seedy American hustler genre. One movie really stands out for me,
and that’s My Own Private Idaho with River Phoenix and Keanu Reeves.
This shoot by photographers Marcus Piggott and Mert Alas really makes me
think of that time.
They’ve gathered together a great
collection of hot young men to tell a story of street life, of the seedy
world of gay sex-for-money, and although there might be some moral
objections to this kind of notion there is undoubtedly an incredibly
sexy feel to the whole thing.
Brian Shimansky, Chad White, Jamie Wise
and Veit Couturier are the guys showing off a little flesh in this
collection of images, and what a hot scene they create amongst them too.
It’s a kind of romantic take on the whole scene, I guess it’s a vision
of a reality that’s only possible to appreciate when you’re outside of
it.
I know I’m not the only one who looks
back on the 80’s and 90’s of America and thinks about this kind of
creativity, and mourns its loss. Is it the same now? Is there any real
representation of reality in the same way there was back then?
Either way, for artistic merit they score 10/10, and for the hotness of the guys they feature I would say the same again.
