"Model friends! Haha I guess Boyd and Vincent, my girlfriend Behati Prinsloo..."

-Hello Jamie, I am proud to interview you, just to start it off, though you are very famous, please give me some background information. So my name is Jamie Strachan, I grew up all over the place, attending 11 schools in 3 different countries. I lived in Connecticut (USA), Paris (France) and all over the UK. The places in the UK, I really remember and had an effect on me, are Manchester, Bristol, Hertfordshire and Dorset. Dorset is in the south west of England, and is where my parents, little brother still live, my older sister is there now, but she is quite jet set too, so she probably wont be for long! I currently live in the depths of Brooklyn, which I love! With my roommates (and best mates) Boyd Holbrook and Vincent Lacrocq.-Let's look back at how you started modelling, tell me about how you got discovered.Well the only person that discovered me was my mum. Basically both mum and dad had done a little modelling back in the day. So then mum got my sister into it when I was about 10 (I was very chubby cheeked and had a rather fancy bowl cut). It wasn't until I went from the smallest in class to pretty much the tallest when I was 17\18, that mum tricked me. We met up one day when we were both in London for what I thought was to buy school clothes or some crap. And we ended up in a modelling agency with me running for the door and my mum holding me back, they signed me up. (Thanks mum!!)
-For whom was your very first runway show for? What was it like?My first runway show was for Jil Sander. It was great cause I missed school and got paid! I hung out with some cool people and visited Milan, which I had never been to before. I told school I was on exam leave, but then a picture of me came out in The Telegraph newspaper walking the runway, so I was busted.

-You have modeled for almost all the major designers and have appeared in their campaign ads for a number of times, who was the first designer you modeled for and your very latest?Well I guess Jil sander was my first proper job, my first campaign I think was Nicole Farhi. My latest campaigns are CK One and  Calvin Klein White Label.-You have done a lot of major campaigns, which of them marked the beginning of "a new level" in your career and made you one of the most successful male models today?I don't know which one marked a new level in work for me. They all really had a hand in me being where I am today. I was never that guy who smashed on the scene overnight. I have just trucked along, getting good stuff. Which I guess are the reasons I am still here!

-Do you have any projects coming up? What is next for you?
As far as what's next, I don't know! You never know, until you actually are on the job pretty much. I am packing my things and heading to Germany today for the Hugo Boss show in Berlin.

-Do you have a personal motto that sums up your thoughts about life in a sentence?A sentence! Um.... Look after your friends and family, and always try and be happy!-Who are some of your model friends and what do you do during your spare time? What is the meaning of fun and having a good time for you?Model friends! Haha I guess Boyd and Vincent, my girlfriend Behati Prinsloo. Michelle Deswarte, Heidi Vorstead, Racheal Alexander, Leah Dewavrin, Robert Pattinson, Steffan Forester-Walker, Chris Beltcher, Andy Smith, Jamie Burke, Alistair Coldry, Lee craig, Jayce, Danny Beachamp. To name a few, I could go all day. I am quite a social person.

Boyd, Vincent, Michelle and Behati, are kind of my creative gang, Boyd is about photography and sculpture, Vincent is about film, photos and animation. Me and the girls paint. I also design jewelry with old friend Philippa Holland. www.philippaholland.co.uk. These kinds of things are what I do for pleasure, and I guess drinking, playing pool, going to gigs.

-If you weren't modelling, what do you think you'd be doing now? What did you wish to be when you were a kid? If I wasn't modelling I would probably be a graphic designer, or a barman, or a broke artist. I wanted to be a dustbin man when I was little, so I could working in the morning and surf/skate all day.
-Thanks Jamie for taking the time to reply to my questions, it was a gift for me and for my readers!
