Dolce & Gabbana: The Love of Polka Dots

The Spanish inspired Dolce&Gabbana Spring Summer 2015 menswear and womenswear collections are a veritable party of polka dots. Printed, embroidered, casual or formal, the polka dot is treated like a king amongst prints.

With polka dots a continuing motif in the Dolce&Gabbana 30 year history, the development of the pattern has seen continuing experiments in colour, texture and applications.
Thus the cornucopia of polka dots in both the menswear and womenswear collections for the Spring Summer 2015 season are much more than just a Spanish inspired prints.

In the menswear collection polka dots feature on crimson casual vests and Ts, and on muted grey / black suits brought up to date thanks to the fashion forward maxi blazer. They feature on underwear and bomber jackets as well as double-breasted suits and shorts pajamas.

While for the womanswear collection, polka dots come into their own and are interpreted in a variety of styles, sizes and colours. The dots are finely embroidered on tulle, maxi on dramatic ruffled popeline maxi skirts, demurely printed on charmeuse shifts and prettily mixed with technical material in the form of vintage inspire underwear.
