Did you know that the Master of his craft, Gianni Versace was the first designer to bring Leather and Denim into the World of Couture?

 

Biggest Accomplishments: Versace was unrivaled throughout the 1980s and 1990s as the most popular Italian designer.

 

When & How He Got Started: Versace began at a young age, by helping his mother, a dressmaker, find stones and gold braids to embroider dresses with. He presented his first signature collection for women at the Palazzo della Permanente Art Museum of Milan in the 1970′s, and shortly after opened a boutique.

 

Versace lived large. He had homes in Milan, Lake Como, Miami Beach, and Manhattan.

 

He also designed costumes for the theatre and films, and was a friend of Madonna, Elton John, Cher, Sting, and Princess Diana as well as many others.

 

Gianni  created his masculine Menwear designs,introduced it as for MetroSexual!
