Heidi Klum: "Project Runway was Becoming Stale fter 16 Seasons!!"

Heidi Klum Says ‘Project Runway’ Was ‘Becoming Stale’ After 16 Seasons: ‘It Needed Some Changes’...

Not holding back. Heidi Klum came clean about her departure from Project Runway after she announced that she would not return to host season 17 of the reality competition series.
“I don’t feel like they need advice,” Klum told reporters at the amfAR Gala in Beverly Hills on Thursday, October 18, when asked if she offered guidance to her replacement, Karlie Kloss. “I feel like I left Project Runway in great hands with Karlie and with Christian Siriano, and I think they’re going to do a great job and I can’t wait to see how they’re going to change it because it needed some changes.”
The 45-year-old supermodel elaborated: “You know, after 16 seasons, the show was becoming stale. It was great. But it needed something new to it. I feel like with new people and the way they do it [it] will have that. So I’m excited for that.”
Klum and longtime Project Runway mentor Tim Gunn revealed in September that they were leaving the Emmy-winning show to develop a new series at Amazon. “After 16 incredible seasons, I am saying ‘Auf Wiedersehen’ to Project Runway, a show that I was honored to host and help create,” she said in a statement at the time. “I am incredibly proud of the show, and it will always have a special place in my heart. I am so appreciative of the dedicated fans, and most of all, I am grateful that we could shine a light on creativity and help launch so many talented designers’ careers. I’m most excited that my journey with my dear friend and colleague, Tim Gunn, is far from over.”
Judge Zac Posen later announced that he would not return for season 17 either, leaving Nina Garcia as the only remaining main cast member.
Bravo, which will take over Project Runway from its previous network of Lifetime when the new season airs, confirmed earlier this month that the new slate will include Kloss, 26, as host, Siriano, 32, as mentor, and designer Brandon Maxwell and former Teen Vogue editor-in-chief Elaine Welteroth as judges, alongside Garcia, 53.
Season 17 of Project Runway will premiere on Bravo in 2019.

Before 12th Season: Heidi Klum's Billboard BANNED from LA!

Too risque: Heidi Klum's nude Project Runway billboard has been banned in Los Angeles for being too racy

Too sexy for LA! Heidi Klum's racy Project Runway billboard BANNED from city after she poses with naked models!!

Getting into character: Heidi uploaded pictures on Tuesday showing her having her hair and makeup done as in the banned image
She's made the city her home.
But it seems Heidi Klum is just too sexy for the streets of Los Angeles.
A billboard advertising the supermodel's new campaign for Season 12 of Project Runway has been deemed too racy for the city's public.
The advert featured glistening naked models surrounding the fully clothed SuperModel.
Now underwear must be electronically added to the poster before it can be displayed in LA.
The billboard saw Heidi dressed like an empress in a flowing robe and an elaborate wig.
A play on the emperor has no clothes, Heidi is surrounded by naked male and female minions.
Project Runway presenter Tim Gunn stands beside her, presumably as her right hand man.
They each hold giant sewing needles, a nod to the premise of the long-running reality show, which pits wannabe fashion designers against each other.
Elaborate costumes: Heidi captioned this picture 'getting me ready for me closeup' as Tim Gunn was prepped beside her
The image was scheduled to appear on billboards, websites, bus shelters and in magazines, but the naked models were seen as inappropriate for the Los Angeles public.
An alternative version showing the models in underwear will be released in its place.
New York City, however, is allowing the naked ad to run as is.
Heidi, meanwhile, uploaded pictures to her Instagram on Tuesday showing her getting her hair done as it appears in the banned picture.
It is unclear whether the images are old from the original shoot, or if Heidi is wearing the same outfit for another Project Runway promotional shoot.
Season 12 of the hit show - created by Heidi - kicks off July 18, and it will featured a host of celebrity guests, including Kate Bosworth, Allison Williams and Kaley Cuoco.

Heidi Klum: " Project Runway Is in Good Hands with Karlie Kloss..."

Heidi Klum Says Project Runway 'Is in Good Hands' with Karlie Kloss: 'I'm Excited to See It'

After 16 seasons, Heidi Klum knew that Project Runway was in need of change.
In early September, the model and longtime judge/host of the fashion design competition series announced she was leaving the show alongside mentor/host Tim Gunn.
Two familiar (and famous) faces are filling their spots: supermodel Karlie Kloss and Project Runway alum and designer Christian Siriano. And Klum is confident in their abilities to reinvigorate the show.
“I don’t think they need advice. We left Project Runway in great hands, with Karlie [Kloss] and Christian Siriano, and I think they are going to do a great job,” Klum, 45, told PEOPLE at the amfAR Gala in Los Angeles on Thursday.
According to Klum, Kloss, 26, and Siriano, 32, taking over is timely — and necessary.
“I can see how they are going to change it, because it needed some change. After 16 seasons, it was becoming stale. I’m excited to see how it will progress,” she admitted. “It’s great to have new people and new visions for this next iteration of Project Runway. I’m looking forward to how they make the show their own!”
While Klum said that her time on the series — she and Gunn joined in 2004 — “was great,” she admitted that “it needed something new too.”
She added, “and I feel like, with new people and the way that they do it, it will have that, and I am excited for that.”
Klum and Gunn’s Project Runway days may be over, but it won’t be long before the pair is back on TV; they’re developing a reality fashion series with Amazon Prime Video.
“After 16 incredible seasons, I am saying ‘Auf Wiedersehen’ to Project Runway, a show that I was honored to host and help create,” Klum said in a previous statement, announcing her departure. “I am incredibly proud of the show, and it will always have a special place in my heart. I am so appreciative of the dedicated fans, and most of all, I am grateful that we could shine a light on creativity and help launch so many talented designers’ careers. I’m most excited that my journey with my dear friend and colleague, Tim Gunn, is far from over. We will be partnering with Amazon for a new show, and we’re excited for everyone to see what we’re designing next!”
Said Gunn in his statement, “I am grateful to Project Runway for putting me on a path I never, in my wildest dreams, thought my career would take me! I am so proud to have been a part of the groundbreaking process that showcased talented young designers as never before. Most importantly, I am indebted to our incredible fans, they are the heart and soul of what we do, and continue to inspire us to raise the bar in this arena. I’m excited for them to see what’s next, as I partner with Amazon and Heidi Klum on our next great ‘fashion’ adventure.”
Their upcoming series “will be a fresh take in the reality space and will appeal to a global audience who are entertained by competition, storytelling, and authenticity. Additionally, Amazon Fashion will create a shopable experience for viewers,” according to a press release from the streaming giant.

Tim Gunn & Heidi Klume leaves Project Runway!

Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn Are Leaving 'Project Runway' for New Amazon Fashion Series!!One day Tim and Heidi are in ... and the next day they're out!Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn just announced they are leaving "Project Runway" for a new fashion competition series with Amazon Studios.
"Project Runway" only recently announced the upcoming Season 17 would
move back to Bravo from Lifetime, as part of the whole Weinstein mess.
It's hard to imagine "Project Runway" could "make it work" without the iconic duo, so ... not sure what's going to happen there.

Update: After this news came out, designer judge Zac Posen announced to Deadline that he too is leaving "Project Runway":"Working alongside Heidi, Nina and Tim as a judge for six seasons of Project Runway was one of the greatest experiences of my career. I will cherish the opportunity the show gave me to learn from and grow with my co-judges, the producers, crew and designers. Runway has led to incredible opportunities and I am currently at work on some new projects that I am very excited to share with you soon. I wish the show and everyone much success always."

At any rate, Tim and Heidi are excited about their new Amazon opportunity:
Heidi Klum: "After 16 incredible seasons, I am saying ‘Auf Wiedersehen’ to Project Runway, a show that I was honored to host and help create. I am incredibly proud of the show, and it will always have a special place in my heart. I am so appreciative of the dedicated fans, and most of all, I am grateful that we could shine a light on creativity and help launch so many talented designers’ careers. I’m most excited that my journey with my dear friend and colleague, Tim Gunn, is far from over. We will be partnering with Amazon for a new show, and we’re excited for everyone to see what we’re designing next!"

Tim Gunn: "I am grateful to Project Runway for putting me on a path I never, in my wildest dreams, thought my career would take me! I am so proud to have been a part of the groundbreaking process that showcased talented young designers as never before. Most importantly, I am indebted to our incredible fans, they are the heart and soul of what we do, and continue to inspire us to raise the bar in this arena. I’m excited for them to see what’s next, as I partner with Amazon and Heidi Klum on our next great ‘fashion’ adventure."

According to Entertainment Weekly, the new Amazon fashion series "will be a fresh take in the reality space and will appeal to a global audience who are entertained by competition, storytelling, and authenticity."
No one knows what that means yet, but Amazon streamers will find out at some point. And we now have to figure out what that also means for "Project Runway" Season 17 with Cristian Siriano-- and beyond -- as well as "Project Runway: Junior," the popular spinoff Tim Gunn co-hosted.

Bieber Plays Soccer Shirtless After Eventful week with Hailey Baldwin!

Justin Bieber Plays Soccer Shirtless After Eventful Week with Hailey Baldwin

The “What Do You Mean?” singer, 24, was spotted working up a sweat in Los Angeles during a game of soccer. Sans shirt, Bieber showed off his extensive collection of ink across his torso and along his arms. He opted for green shorts and tied some of his long hair up.

Bieber stayed loyal to Calvin Klein, a brand he has previously modeled for, as the band of his underwear peeked out.

Last week, Bieber stepped out at church with wife Hailey Baldwin, whom he secretly wed in September, and went house hunting with her. The couple looked at the home where Demi Lovato overdosed in July.

“He is incredible,” the model, 21, gushed about her husband in a recent interview with Harper’s BAZAAR.He crushes everything. Every song, every feature. It’s crazy to see what he does. I’m always blown away.”

“Over the past year, I’ve had more attention on me than I’ve ever had in my life,” she added. “It’s easy to not think about your mental health or your physical health because you keep pushing, pushing, pushing. Before this year, I wasn’t balancing anything.”
Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin
In October, a source exclusively told PEOPLE that Bieber and Baldwin’s surprise wedding in New York City was Baldwin’s idea.
“Hailey is a very bright girl. She’s not just blindly adoring Justin and doing whatever he wants,” the source said. “She’s wanted to be with Justin for a very long time.”
“The city hall marriage was her idea. It was ‘you and me against the world,’” the source continued. “Let’s show [everyone] we’re serious and it’s not just some crazy fling.”

Details are beginning to emerge about Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin’s surprise New York City wedding. According to People, it was Baldwin’s idea to have a quick ceremony at a courthouse over the summer.

“Hailey is a very bright girl. She’s not just blindly adoring Justin and doing whatever he wants,” a source close to Bieber told the magazine. “She’s wanted to be with Justin for a very long time.” While Bieber and Baldwin will reportedly have a more traditional ceremony for family and friends somewhere down the road, the source explained that Baldwin wanted to get married as soon as possible to solidify them “as a team,” and to prove to any skeptics that they’re the real deal.
People reports. According to The Blast, Baldwin filed the trademark for a potential clothing line. She also opened up about her husband in a recent interview with Harper’s BAZAAR. “He is incredible,” she said of Bieber. “He crushes everything. Every song, every feature. It’s crazy to see what he does. I’m always blown away.”
“The city hall marriage was her idea. It was 'you and me against the world,’” the source added. “Let's show [everyone] we're serious and it’s not just some crazy fling.”

The new report is in stark contrast to a previous report suggesting that Bieber and Baldwin had a shotgun wedding just because they wanted to get all the “legal stuff” out of the way. “It was more of a necessary ceremony to make it legal,” a source told People in September. “It doesn’t seem like it was a big deal to them.” Baldwin previously tried to downplay the wedding in a since-deleted tweet. “I understand where the speculation is coming from, but I’m not married yet!” Baldwin tweeted. According to a source, Baldwin needs a religious element for the wedding to feel official.

Christian Siriano replaces Tim Gunn on "Project Runway"?

HORRIBLE NEWS!! Christian Siriano to take over Tim Gunn on "Project Runway", that's heading for Disaster!!
Fashion model Karlie Kloss and designer Christian Siriano are replacing host Heidi Klum and mentor Tim Gunn on Project Runway. But will they make it work?

Following 16 seasons on Project Runway, which aired on Bravo and Lifetime, Emmy-winning duo Klum and Gunn announced last month they were giving the fashion competition the double kiss-off to go launch another reality series for Amazon Prime Video.
Elle editor-in-chief Nina Garcia will return to Project Runway as a judge alongside two newcomers: designer Brandon Maxwell and former Teen Vogue editor-in-chief Elaine Welteroth, EW reports.
“As someone who grew up watching Project Runway, I could not be more excited to host and produce a series that provides a platform to aspiring American designers as they pursue their creative and entrepreneurial dreams,” Kloss says in a statement.

“I am equally as thrilled to work alongside an incredibly talented group of fashion innovators—Brandon Maxwell, Elaine Welteroth, Nina Garcia, and Christian Siriano—to inspire, support and help guide these designers as they realize their visions and build everlasting brands and businesses.”
Project Runway has offered such wonderful opportunities for so many and I’m excited to take on this role as a mentor,” adds Siriano, season 4 winner and gay activist. “I hope to guide and inspire the new talent on the rise.”

“After 16 incredible seasons, I am saying ‘Auf Wiedersehen’ to Project Runway, a show that I was honored to host and help create,” said Klum in a statement last month. “I am incredibly proud of the show, and it will always have a special place in my heart. I am so appreciative of the dedicated fans, and most of all, I am grateful that we could shine a light on creativity and help launch so many talented designers’ careers.”

“I’m most excited that my journey with my dear friend and colleague, Tim Gunn, is far from over,” the former model added. “We will be partnering with Amazon for a new show, and we’re excited for everyone to see what we’re designing next!”
“I am grateful to Project Runway for putting me on a path I never, in my wildest dreams, thought my career would take me!” Gunn said. “I am so proud to have been a part of the groundbreaking process that showcased talented young designers as never before. Most importantly, I am indebted to our incredible fans, they are the heart and soul of what we do, and continue to inspire us to raise the bar in this arena.”
“I’m excited for them to see what’s next,” the gay icon continued, “as I partner with Amazon and Heidi Klum on our next great ‘fashion’ adventure.”
Insiders tell EW the new streaming series “will be a fresh take in the reality space and will appeal to a global audience who are entertained by competition, storytelling, and authenticity.”
Heidi Klum completely changed the television landscape by developing a competitive reality fashion series that was unproven and different from what was popular on-air,” said Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon Studios. “The show became wildly successful, and in turn Klum and Tim Gunn have become an iconic pop culture duo. Their drive to deliver fashionably entertaining, engaging and trendsetting content speaks for itself, and we believe their next iteration in this space will find an even larger audience on our global Prime Video runway.”

Longtime judge Zac Posen also confirmed last month that he was leaving Project Runway.
“Working alongside Heidi, Nina [Garcia] and Tim as a judge for six seasons of Project Runway was one of the greatest experiences of my career,” said the designer in a statement. “I will cherish the opportunity the show gave me to learn from and grow with my co-judges, the producers, crew and designers. Runway has led to incredible opportunities and I am currently at work on some new projects that I am very excited to share with you soon. I wish the show and everyone much success always.”
Project Runway launched in 2004 on Bravo before moving to Lifetime in 2009. After the scandal-fueled bankruptcy of its producers, the Weinstein Company, it was announced earlier this year that the series will be back on Bravo for its upcoming 17th season.

With original producer Magical Elves returning, Bravo plans to “reboot” the show in 2019: “Bravo is proud to bring Project Runway back where it all began, and Heidi and Tim will always be a huge part of the legacy,” says a network spokesperson. “The series will continue its iconic impact with Bravo’s reboot for the next generation of designers and fans.”

Pre-production on season 17 of Project Runway has already begun.
Much luck to Heidi and Tim. The development of their chemistry on early PR seasons was palpable. And Tim was clearly destined for more than workroom mentor alone.
Glad to see Nina is staying...it sort of gives gravitas to the continued show.
Hoping Kloss brings her own energy to the judge's panel, it would be an easy slip up to try to be Heidi 2.0.
Most excited about Christian. The one that went all the way. He came in wth credentials as a contestant having interned with McQueen, etc. But his industry cred is well established now and his love of sharing ideas is important.
Now, just need a new catch phrase..."Make it happen!"..."Make it FIERCE!"..."Too, fucking much TAFFETA!!!"...?

Dynasty Reboot: Gay Pandering, Catfights, Absolute Trash

When we first heard that the CW was rebooting the campy ’80s-era prime time soap opera Dynasty, we wondered whether it would feature all the obscene wealthy, backstabbing and over-the-top catfights that made the original so deliciously terrible. But now that we’ve seen the reboot’s trailer, we no longer have to wonder because it does feature all that and some pandering man-on-man action to boot.
The original series followed the drama surrounding the wealthy Carrington family of Denver as the family patriarch, Blake, decides to marry his secretary, Krystle. Though the show reveled Krystle’s battles with Blake’s first wife, Alexis, its entire first season showed Krystle sparring with Blake’s daughter, Fallon, and allying with Blake’s bisexual son Steven.
The reboot seems to follow this same trajectory; the only difference is that Fallon seems to have a thing for black guys (fetishizing?) and Steven’s sexual interest falls on Krystle’s nephew, Sammy Jo, a role that used to be played by Heather Locklear. The new gender-swapped Sammy Jo is played by Rafael de La Fuente, the Latino actor who played Jamal’s gay boyfriend in Empire).
In the original series, Steven’s male lover died near the end of season one. Considering that Locklear’s Sammy Jo stayed on the show for several years, it seems like the gay Sammy Jo character in the reboot may stick around a bit longer than he did in the original.
It’s also interesting to not that the reboot is being done by executive producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, the creators of the CW’s popular Gossip Girl series. Accordingly, the new Dynasty seems geared towards younger female viewers with a protagonist who looks like she’s in her early 20s.
The reboot has also brought along Esther and Richard Shapiro, the pair who helped created the original Dynasty, but it’ll be interesting to see whether modern audiences really care for the catfights and trashy weddings of ultra-rich socialites.

Eileen Davidson Breaks her Silence of Y&R Return!

Despite Y&R head writer Mal Young's statement in a recent interview, announcing that Eileen Davidson would be returning as Ashley in the future for a big story, the actress took to Twitter to clarify and stated, "Hey guys thanks for your support but I left y and r last week. I'm not taking a 'break.' I did say I would be open to coming back for a party or something possibly down the line. Just want to clarify!!! Enjoy my last several shows! The story is fantastic!" Davidson's last episode will air October 29.

On September 28 we learned that we may not have seen the last of Eileen Davidson as Ashley Abbott. In a recent interview with Soap Opera Digest, Headwriter Mal Young teased that during the last few episodes that Ashley’s featured, there will be a big treat for fans as a way to pay homage to the character. He also revealed that Davidson is simply taking a “timeout” from Y&R to pursue other projects, but that Ashley’s still going to be a huge part of the show. In fact, they have a big story planned for her in the future.
On September 24 we reported that Eileen Davidson shared a clip from the Y&R set on her last day on the show, Friday September 21. Soaps.com noted that Davidson's video was taken before taping her last scene with the Abbott family, which is not her last scene on the show. Davidson said, "Last day! Love them all so much!!

On September 18, Eileen Davidson posted a video on Instagram as she walked outside the CBS studios and stated, "Saddest countdown... 😔 #youngandrestless #4moredays." If she has four more days of taping at Y&R, that would keep her character Ashley on screen until around the middle of October.
On June 27, we reported that Eileen Davidson confirmed her Y&R departure and will leave the CBS daytime drama in September. The actress stated on Twitter, "Yes I am leaving my second home @YandR_CBS in September. I’ve been so blessed to be able to play Ashley Abbott and work with the amazing people on the show and have nothing but gratitude and love for all!!! Time for a little more control over my day to day!" Soaps.com wishes the actress all the best.
Earlier we reported, on the heels of Mishael Morgan leaving Y&R as Hilary after not being offered a raise, comes the news that Eileen Davidson has elected to depart the soap opera as well. Daytime Confidential claims the actress decided to leave The Young and the Restless to spend more time with her family, and the unnamed source behind the news stated, “Eileen is a big family person, but Sony's 'no raises' policy makes it easier for actors to walk away these days.” In an interesting twist, which means she isn't switching soaps, Davidson’s other daytime role was recast as Stacy Haiduk takes over as Days’ Kristen DiMera.
In July of last year, Davidson left The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills prior to its eighth season, and explained, “After a lot of careful thought, I've decided because of my crazy schedules at The Young and the Restless, as well as Days of our Lives, it's best for me and my family if I step away from being a Housewife for now. But you never know, I might be popping in from time to time just to see what the ladies are up to!”

Davidson was the original actress to play the role of Y&R’s Ashley Abbott in 1982, but quit in 1988. She went on to appear as Kelly Capwell on Santa Barbara and Kristen Blake (along with four other characters, including Susan Banks) on Days of our Lives, before returning to play Abbott again in 1999. After eight years, she was let go from the role due to lack of storyline in 2006, but was seen onscreen until January of 2007. By March, she was signed and appearing as Ashley Abbott on sister soap, The Bold and the Beautiful, where she stayed for a year before returning to Y&R once again. In 2012, Davidson moved back to Days, however by 2014 she was able to secure a contract with Y&R allowing her to do both soaps, and though she stayed on the CBS soap until now, she appeared on Days in both 2015 and 2017.
Stay tuned for updates on Eileen Davidson’s last Y&R airdate.

Dynasty named Worst Show of 2017!

This reboot isn't nearly as fun as the original because it's trying way too hard in every way. The first shot of the series is of the Trump family. Everyone is overacting, but not in the silly way that made the '80s "Dynasty" so enjoyable. The dialogue tries so hard to be clever that it's condescending. The pilot is filled with exposition — the main character, in voiceover, explains what a dynasty is, as if some people would be too dumb or poor to know. And the show desperately tries to fit in a feminist angle, despite the fact that the plot clearly relies on pitting two women against each other.

Young & the Restless Renewed for 2 more Years!

Fans don’t have to worry that The Young and the Restless will be cancelled this time around. The soap was renewed for three more seasons, through 2020. But, how will season 45 of the soap perform in the ratings? Will the CBS execs regret this big renewal? Stay tuned.

Premiering on CBS on March 26th 1973, The Young and the Restless follows the romances, hopes and fears of the residents of Midwestern metropolis Genoa City.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival.
